Blowing the Trumpet

We auditors are – by our nature – a relatively conservative group.

And as such we don’t often take the time to tell our stakeholders what it is that we have done and what value it has added.

The Australian National Audit Office in the production of its annual report on operations has gone some way to addressing this publicity deficiency.

What we would have liked to have seen would been a greater trend analysis across periods but that observation needs to be seen in the context that we are impressed by the work produced.

Every organisation – public or private – should be considering how they can promote (without it being propaganda) their successes and the value that it adds.

And can we just say for the record – where do we sign up to go to Antartica to do an audit (if you read the report you will know what we are referring to).
